How to Use Light Pads in a Red LED Light Therapy Session

The Future is Here

Red light therapy was once confined to medical settings like hospitals and clinics. Today, with the advent of portable home devices, it has become more accessible and affordable. Unlike many other health treatments, red light therapy can be used regularly without risk, doesn’t require invasive procedures, and rarely leads to unforeseen side effects.

However, there are questions about the effective use of light pads in red LED light therapy. This guide will discuss the potential therapeutic applications of these pads, often in consultation with medical professionals.

Combining Technologies for Enhanced Therapy

By integrating red LED light with near-infrared light through the flexible pad technology of Contour Light, a unique and customizable lighting experience is created. This setup is easy to use, requiring minimal training. Many doctors and therapists use the Contour Light System to provide a soothing massage or other relaxing treatments while the patient lies on a massage table or similar surface.

Procedure

1. Setup:

  • Connect the pads and face mask to their respective ports.
  • Turn on the device by pressing the “ON” button on the display above each port.

2. Pad Placement:

  • The Contour Light system includes a mask covering the chest and face, four large pads, and two smaller pads.
  • For overall body fat reduction:
    • Place two large pads on the massage table, lighter-colored sides up, parallel to each other.
    • Flip the other two large pads to cover the lower back and hips.
    • Secure the small pads over the upper arms with Velcro.
    • Position the mask to cover the face and chest, about 1.5″ – 2″ away from the face.

3. Session Settings:

  • Use the arrow buttons to set the timer for your treatment duration. For fat reduction, set it to 30 minutes.
  • Press the “Start” button to begin the session.

4. Post-Session:

  • After the session, remove the pads and place them on the cart.
  • Carefully clean each pad and the face mask cover with a disinfectant spray or wipes, ensuring all cracks and crevices are cleaned.

The Better Choice

During your recovery journey, it’s crucial to listen to your body and adjust your sessions accordingly. You are responsible for your well-being and the proper maintenance of your device when using red light therapy. Whether or not red light therapy is beneficial for you should be determined in consultation with healthcare professionals.
